A very overdue Christmas gift for :iconkarashogai:!! Sorry for the wait, my laptop lost this file twice and everytime that happens, I lose the energy and drive to finish it. But I managed to finish finally!

Just a small explanation to the others: KaraShogai's (wonderful) Northern Ireland is saying "Let's work together so that one day we too can proudly wave our flag" because lately there has been a huge issue over the UK flag in Northern Ireland. There has been a lot of rioting over it sadly. Now, my picture is not saying that they have to take the UK flag. Notice that both Northern Irelands are carrying a white flag. It isn't a flag of surrender.

It is a flag of neutrality. Of peace. It is the flag that carries the only colour the Irish and the UK flag have in common: white. The subject of flags has been a very sensitive subject in Northern Ireland. Many people who have a Northern Ireland OC falsely use the Northern Ireland flag which hasn't been in use since 1972. Some people want to see the Irish flag, others want to see the UK flag. I think all this fighting is upsetting. I can see that many people don't know what side to stand on anymore.

That's what Eithne (KaraShogai's OC) is talking about. A spark of hope. The desire that one day they'll be able to wave a flag among the other nations of the world proudly. Will it be the UK flag? Will it be the Irish flag? Who knows? The main point is that I dearly wish that someday no more blood will be spilled over a flag. That both sides will work together, united by their humanity rather than their political stances.

Sure, I may be silly for hoping. But hope is just about one of the very few things that reminds us that humanity is still around. And I will keep that spark of hope alive.

Oh God, Belfast was nuts during these flag protests. No"side" of the community is every going to agree on a flag. I find it very confusing that people complain about using the UK flag when Northern Ireland is a member of the UK -sigh-
Lovely idea though!
