Anglo-Saxon Kingdom names

Well, it was about time that I upload a little about my Anglo-Saxon kingdoms again! When was the last time I drew them all together? 1 year? 2 years? Actually, 4 years. ;w; Whoops.

I will freely admit, they're not my main focus because I love my ancient Celts and Celtic nations so much that there isn't that much space for my Anglo-Saxons to squeeze in. XD But I did develop them and they have their personalities, so I suppose it is only fair that I give them a little attention. So here's a little picture and their human names. Although with Wessex I was alternatively considering the name "Cenric" (meaning fierce ruler) and Deira would have been alternatively called "Winfrith". (meaning "friend of peace")

Since the last time I've drawn them together, some have had their designs updated. Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia haven't changed while Wessex's design was slightly fine-tuned. Sussex and Essex have changed quite a bit but Kent barely resembles his original design. I've also improved Deira's and Bernicia's designs because I was never too satisfied with them. I'm considering whether some of them should have freckles. 

In terms of sibling groups, it's as follows: 
The Saxon siblings: Wessex, Sussex and Essex
The Angle siblings: Mercia, East Anglia, Deira, Bernicia and Northumbria
The Jute: Kent (poor guy, he has no Anglo-Saxon kingdom siblings)

Though it is notable that Kent existed already during the Roman rule of Britain, being a Celtic avatar in origin. Deira and Bernicia were also originally Brythonic kingdoms who came under the rule of the Angles so they're pretty distant from Mercia and East Anglia, more cousins than siblings. (also it was through a crazy plan of Bernicia and Deira that led to the creation of Northumbria, the youngest of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms)

I might do more specific pictures to explain some aspects of each character, I do feel I owe them that. For now though, have all these Anglo-Saxon brats and their human names.
